Rich lists need a timestamp. Without one, the ranking can be wrong before the page finishes loading.
This version uses Forbes’ annual World’s Billionaires list with valuations fixed to March 1, 2026. That makes it a clean historical snapshot rather than a live scoreboard.

Technology dominates the very top
Two cofounders in the top three
Larry Page and Sergey Brin together occupied #2 and #3.
Three more tech fortunes
Zuckerberg, Bezos and Ellison filled the next cluster behind them.
AI infrastructure wealth
Jensen Huang’s rise reflects Nvidia’s extraordinary position in the AI-computing boom.
Luxury, retail and investing
Arnault, Ortega and Buffett were the major non-tech names in the top ten.
Net worth is an estimate tied to asset prices
Forbes says its annual list uses stock prices and exchange rates from a fixed date and estimates public and private holdings, real estate, debt and other assets. Real-time rankings move afterward as markets and private-company estimates change.
2026 was a record billionaire year
Forbes counted 3,428 billionaires worth a combined $20.1 trillion on its 2026 annual list — both record figures. Twenty people had fortunes of at least $100 billion.
A rich list is a photograph of moving assets
The names are fascinating. The timestamp is essential.
Forbes’ March 1 snapshot gives a consistent 2026 ranking; any live ranking after that date is a different measurement and should be labeled as such.
